Bangkok

Previous Stop: Koh Phi Phi - ferry - Karon (1 night before flight) - flight
Duration: 3 days
Accommodation: CHERN Hostel
Next Stop: England - flight

We landed in Bangkok in the early evening before taking a taxi to our hostel CHERN. It was so lovely! We'd booked a twin room for our final few days so we had space to sort out our bags and reorganise before flying home. The night we arrived we decided to head to the MBK mall as there were a few bags we wanted to buy and it was somewhere we'd been recommended and had great reviews online. We didn't buy anything that day as we wanted to go to the chatuchak weekend market the next day which was also supposedly great for bags! When we arrived at the market the following morning we were overwhelmed with the size.. It was great to see and pick up last minute souvenirs however we didn't find the bags we were looking for. As we'd already been to MBK the night before we decided to try another mall and after a little searching we decided to go to Platinum Mall which was great to see, it was like market stalls inside a mall and like nothing I'd seen before. We also ended up stumbling through another market close by which was so busy you couldn't see anything and were literally trampled on. That evening we went back to MBK to buy the bags we'd seen the day before, so all in all a great shopping day! That night we walked to Khao San Road to have a look around and ended up getting a 50p Pad Thai.

We wanted to visit the Grand Palace whilst in Bangkok however after looking online we'd heard that Wat Pho was supposedly better so we walked there from our hostel and spent the morning exploring there, it was so beautiful and the reclining buddha was also super cool and so massive! Later that day we walked along the river then grabbed lunch before walking back to MBK to buy bags for our mums. That evening we went back to Khao San Road for food after exploring a couple of other places for street food which were far more expensive.

The next morning we went back to Khao San Road to get pedicures and our final massages in Asia, all of which for £6!! We had a drink and spent the days looking through the shops before heading back to our hostel to repack before leaving the following morning after the most wonderful 3 months away!!
