Sydney

Previous Stop: Byron Bay - Greyhound Bus
Duration: 3 days
Accommodation: Big Hostel
Next Stop: Bangkok - Flight

Our last stop in Australia... Sydney. For sure my favourite place I visited in Aus and somewhere I am definitely considering living at some point *fingers crossed next year*. We sadly only got a few days there which is something I really regret about how we managed our time. On the first day we explored the city, went to Mrs Macquaries Chair which has a great view of both the bridge and the opera house. We explored the botanical gardens, walked over the bridge, went to Luna Park, grabbed dinner at a cute restaurant one side of the bridge which did the best fish and chips I've ever eaten.. And I've had more than I would ever care to admit. Then headed to the opera house in the evening for a drink before finishing the night at Scary Canary attached to BASE hostel where we knew a couple of people staying.

On the 2nd day we visited the blue mountains. It was something we'd umm-ed and aa-ed about with the time we had in Sydney, but also something I'm so glad we managed to fit in. We left early and got the train rather than doing a tour and bought a hop-on-hop-off bus ticket which worked out a lot better for us as we could spend as much time as we wanted at each place. The Blue Mountains are breathtakingly beautiful, we visited Echo Point and Scenic world as well as accidentally taking on an hour long hike by accident (not ideal in sandals which, Rebecca, will cause you serious pain for the next few days).

On our last day in Australia we caught the ferry to Manly to visit one of my friends who had recently moved out to Australia. It was lovely to see her and her house, the beach near by was also beautiful and great to see Manly somewhere I would love to live if I got the chance. Plus great salted caramel ice-cream.

Sadly that concludes our short but sweet trip to Australia. I can't wait to return and hopefully next time for a more substantial amount of time. Next stop, Bangkok...
