bexxgo.: Airlie Beach (Whitsundays)

We chose to stay at Backpackers by the Bay as we had a couple of days before the heading out to Whitehaven beach. The hostel was a little out of the way of some on the main hostels and bars but about a 5-10 minute walk which wasn't too bad. It was a lovely hostel and we were picked up from the bus stop (something much appreciated with a rucksack!). We went for $5 dominos for dinner, *prays they bring it to England*! The next day just headed to the shops and chilled in the hammocks at the hostel.

We booked our tours through Peter Pans Travel Agents, we were quite naive and didn't really do a whole lot of research into each boat and ended up booking the Atlantic Clipper for 2 nights. When we looked into it further and spoke to other people we were told it was a massive party boat which isn't really what we wanted and I was very sceptical. However on the boat it wasn't as crazy as everyone made out *thank god*. We had so much fun and met a lot of cool people. The boat smelled a little questionable which didn't help with motion sickness -bring a lot of travel sickness tablets!!-.

The boat took us out to a couple of diving/snorkelling spots and Whitehaven beach for a few hours which was beautiful with the most clear water. It was a great experience and something I would recommend doing once!!
